Our Guiding Principles
The Organism Balance Therapy Group (SBT Group, based on its original Japanese abbreviation) is an international non-profit organization committed to advancing health, education, and social well-being through natural medicine.
Guided by the simple and pure hope that everyone living on this planet—no matter where or who they are—can enjoy a healthy life, both physically and mentally, we provide and promote two original therapeutic methods—KOHKI Therapy and Organism Balance Therapy (SBT)—across communities and countries around the world.
Our activities began as a nonprofit organization in Japan, initially centered on the practice and dissemination of KOHKI Therapy—an original herbal thermal therapy grounded in natural medicine.
This method utilizes specially designed metal instruments and ignited medicinal herbs to apply targeted heat to the body.
As our clinical experience deepened and we encountered the evolving needs of modern lifestyles and environmental changes, we developed a new therapeutic method—Organism Balance Therapy—grounded in principles of quantum physics and utilizing bamboo instruments to provide solutions for a broader range of health concerns.
We currently center our activities around these two therapeutic approaches—KOHKI Therapy and Organism Balance Therapy—offering treatments, self-care guidance, and the training and certification of therapists. Through these efforts, we aim to support both the physical and mental well-being of individuals while contributing to the realization of a more compassionate and harmonious global society.
In the field of healthcare, we naturally recognize and deeply respect the power and achievements of modern medicine, with chemotherapy and surgery at its core. As professionals in natural medicine, we work collaboratively and complementarily with all healthcare professionals, with the shared goal of delivering the most comprehensive and effective patient-centered care for the people we serve.
Through our daily clinical work in natural medicine, we are constantly reminded of a fundamental truth: just as different cells, tissues, and organs within the human body coexist and communicate to sustain life, so too do individuals, societies, and the natural environment exist through intricate, mutual interconnection. At the same time, we continue to seek answers to the enduring question: What is life, in its essence? The term “Organism” comes from the ancient Greek word organon, which originally referred to a living system in which diverse parts and functions exist in harmony to form a dynamic whole. The human body, for instance, is made up of approximately 37 trillion cells, countless microbes, and complex molecular structures—all working together in a delicate balance to function as a single, unified organism. When we expand our perspective, we can also begin to see our broader society—and even the Earth itself—as a vast, interconnected organism. Countless living beings, natural phenomena, and materials are constantly interacting in a way that sustains balance on a planetary scale.
It is from this understanding of life and balance that the name of our therapy—Organism Balance Therapy—was born. Our work is grounded in the belief that by supporting the health of each individual’s mind and body, we can also contribute to the well-being of society and the Earth as a whole.
This is why we place great importance on the concept of Planetary Health—an approach that views human health and the health of the planet as fundamentally interconnected. In addition to our medical activities, we are also engaged in broader initiatives, including environmental conservation, sustainable agriculture, educational support, and community-based welfare. Through these efforts, we aim to help create a more harmonious, healthier, and sustainable world.
We sincerely hope that our therapies and initiatives can support you and your loved ones in achieving greater physical and mental well-being—and that together, we may move toward a more peaceful, balanced, and beautiful future for our planet.
